Each user has a personal start page

Each user has a personal start page that may look slightly different depending on their role. If you have multiple roles in Unikum, your contact details are separated by organization/authority. On your personal settings page, you can:

  • Choose which contact details should be available in the system (note that this does NOT apply if the municipality imports them automatically via the school administrative system).

  • Decide whether you want your contact details to be visible to everyone or only to school staff.

  • Add or change your email address.

  • Enter your mobile number.

  • Add a profile picture and a personal description.

  • Choose your preferred language.

  • Decide if you want to receive notifications.

  • Change your password (if you log in directly via start.unikum.net). Otherwise, this is not done here.


Finding your settings page

The settings page can be accessed in slightly different ways depending on whether you’re using the web version of Unikum or the app. Below, we explain both ways.


Change settings in the Unikum Family app

  1. Tap on the More menu in the bottom right corner.

  2. Scroll down to Profile and open it.

  3. Tap on Edit in the top right corner.

  4. Update what you want to change.

  5. Save.


Change password in the Unikum Family app

Note! This is only relevant if your organization uses Unikum’s direct login. If you log in another way, please contact the staff at your child’s school for assistance.

  1. Tap on the More menu in the bottom right corner.

  2. Scroll down to Settings.

  3. Tap on Change password.

  4. Enter a new password.


Change settings on computer/web browser

Many municipalities import personal information from their administrative systems, which in turn retrieve them from the population register. If your address or name is incorrect, you need to update it in the population register so that it will be correct in all other systems going forward. (Please contact the responsible person at the school or municipality for help with this.) Do not change it directly in Unikum, as it will be overwritten again by the incorrect data. If you manually add contact details yourself, you also need to update them yourself.

  1. Go to your personal start page.

  2. Click on the gear icon ("Settings") that appears when you click on your picture/initials in the top right corner of the screen.

  3. Update what you want to change.

  4. Save.


Changing contact details for each role

Click on Edit contact details to change your contact information for each respective role.

If you tick “Hide contact details…”, your contact details will only be visible to the school staff.


Important: Keep email and mobile number up-to-date

Your email and mobile number are essential to keep updated because email is used for notifications, invitations to development talks, messages from preschool/school, etc. It is also needed if you need to request a new password yourself via the start page if you forget your old one. (Note! This only applies if you log in via Unikum’s start page.)


Other settings

Under Other settings, you can change your password (this is only relevant if you log in via Unikum’s direct login—otherwise, please contact your child’s school for assistance).


Add a profile picture

Adding a profile picture not only looks much nicer but also makes it easier for everyone involved to find you.


Add a personal description

You can also add a description about yourself that will be shown on your start page.
